_Sterno CandleLamp’s Stove Kit is designed to contain everything needed for light to medium cooking in outdoor and emergency situations. This project served to expand Sterno’s line of compact cooking products that utilize its Canned Heat fuel.

Multiple configurations were explored in the Concept Phase, with an emphasis on low cost production, containment of all needed parts in one package, and compact size for transport. Additional requirements were to enable adjusting the cooking height to control heat, and to provide a means to shield the flame from winds that could extinguish it.

Among the above images are a group of five preliminary ideas – B was selected for development. Other images show the CAD drawings made prior to rapid prototyping parts, and the final design showing the sequence of deployment from its transportable state to the stove ready for use with its cooking pot, cup, and multi-use utensil.
